I am wondering if anyone knows if D&D Beyond supports the Spell Point system? I like the idea of a Sorcerer being able to combine Sorcery Points and Spell Points into a single resource and choosing between using Metamagics or Spells for the point cost.
Unfortunately they're not currently supported; I can kind of understand why as they seem to have trouble enough just keeping on top of the regular rules without adding all the optional stuff that the DMG added, but it's disappointing, as it means a huge chunk of the DMG is technically missing from the site as there are tonnes of optional rules in there that aren't on DDB, like Honor/Sanity etc.
Only way around it would be to track the points somewhere yourself and convert them into spell slots as required to cast, like you would for Font of Magic. Assuming your DM's cool with it, obviously. 😉
Another way to do it is if you make a Fake feat for the spell points. What I mean is make a feat for how many spell points you would have and you can tick them off when used and they will reset on long rest. The issue is you would need to make it for each level.
I wish I know more on how to make them or the Beyond Team would make it so that it is one feat that has it so it changes on level up.
