In the box set dnd (pre AD&D) I went with "elf" because I liked spell sword and well elves. The obvious 5e translation is a high elf blade singing wizard that is built as a damage dealer (see a d4 optimized blade singer build)
But another take could be playing as a charisma focused free spirit wandering fey elf.... in particular a spring eladrin wild magic sorcerer 2, hexblade warlock 3, sorcerer from then on. Primarily a spell caster but able to effectively do an AoO with a long sword
I'm really wondering if this is a decent build mechanically and how I could improve it.
I was debating on pact boon and I'm thinking pact of the chain with a fey spirit familiar taking the form of an imp (I think that's legal... I wouldn't want a fiend familiar)
I'm debating between eldritch spear and mask of many faces
I'm also really unsure what to do for feats... I'd kind of like warcaster so I could booming blade opportunity attack, and i'm wondering if there were a pair of +1 charisma half feats that would work well with this build (maybe elven accuracy and fey touched or similar).
So im using the eladrin from Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse. I'm thinking divine soul sorcerer, neutral domain, to get cleric spell list and dragonfly wings at sorcerer 14.... that's very fairy-esque so I'm thinking female for the character. But as a female eladrin... I don't think an imp familiar is a good look (even if it is a fey spirit taking the form of an imp), a sprite or pseudodragon would work thematically but they've got kind of lame stats (but gift of the ever living ones is cool i think sprites can turn invisible to keep the sprite alive so it can pour a healing potion down my throat if im down) would it be better mechanical to go with one of them, or pact of tome with book of ancient secrets with find familiar (owl), or only do 2 levels of warlock and do repelling blast for my second eldritch invocation (instead of pact of chain with gift of the the everliving ones or pact of tome with book of ancient secrets)?
Ok I think I have a backstory which will drive the character build. She is the granddaughter of Verenestra who took the form of a nymph and had a tryst with a very charismatic half elf hexblade warlock who was blinded by the encounter and so gave up adventuring. Their daughter had characteristics somewhere between a nymph and an eladrin. Because the blinded half elf was her baby daddy and would have a hand in raising the child, Verenestra asked her mother for a favor so that the hexblade's patron wouldn't be able to influence the child, TItania was able to work so mm e kind of magic or strike some kind of deal where she was able to take over patronage of that particular hexblade pact. The effective half Nymph half eladrin child grew up and married an actual eladrin and their daughter was this character (name tbd) who is basically an eladrin that's a little nymphish. In her late teens she briefly attended strixhaven she promptly got expelled for getting Nathair Sgiathach temporarily turn some fellow students into nymphs (debauchery ensued in a frat house) as revenge for making fun of her (it involved questioning her parentage) and when she got reprimanded by the headmaster and other professors for the prank, there was round 2 of them getting temporarily turned into nymphs (again debauchery ensued in a frat house) and after that she was expelled. The strixhaven background is so she can get access to faerie fire because as she levels up she manifests more faerie/fey abilities. She'll go pact of the chain with a sprite as her familiar (sub optimal I know but it's for story reasons) her familiar is actually family, it's her cousin, whenever anyone asks how a sprite and eladrin can be cousins they giggle and answer (truthfully) our grandmum has a very active social life. They gossip all the time. She inherited her hexblade pact (with Titania) from her grandpop.

I found this (which is close)
https://www.enworld.org/threads/guide-the-sorlock-–-guide-to-the-tormented-divine-soul-with-xanathars-divine-soul-17-hexblade-3-updated-12-20-21.596310/
It's says do basically what I was intending but with a divine soul sorcerer instead and some other minor tweaks.
It recommended half elf drow over eladrin (of course there's 2 versions of eladrin, and I was not going with core)
If I go divine soul sorcerer... what neutral fey/elf diety is an eladrin most likely to worship?

So here's the updated build

Any suggestions for how to improve it (that don't involve replacing the sprite familiar with an imp familiar)?
