I'm creating a character to be played in the Greyhawk campaign setting who is a noble red dragon sorceress. I'd like her alignment to be Chaotic Neutral. She discovered her powers and lineage after her parents died in her adolescence. At that time she sought a God in keeping with her background and personality. Hlal is 'good' and manifests as a copper dragon... Tamara is also 'good' and is platinum... So neither quite right. Perhaps I should be looking for a god of fire instead? Any suggestions appreciated!
You could use Sardior. He's the god of nuetral dragons and is often represented by a ruby dragon.
5E says (according to Fizban's treasury of Dragons) that Sardior has been destroyed, hic conciosness scattered into tiny pieces, but you could just say that you've come into contact with one of those bits of divine energy.
Also, pages 30-36 of the 3.5E Draconomicon talk about different dragon deities. These might be a bit out of date since it was made a few editions ago, so you should probably talk to your DM about this. I have a link to the book here: https://anyflip.com/sgat/fyso/basic
Also, with your DM's permission, you can just invent your own god. I hope this helped!
Thanks a lot for the helpful info! After much reading and googling, I already found Kereska, the dragon goddess of magic, specifically dragon magic and magical creativity. She is worshiped by spell-casters as well as by dragons, her alignment is Chaotic Neutral like my character's and, well, she embodies dragon magic - so I decided she was a good fit. She's not a red dragon, actually multi-colored, but you can't have everything! Given that the character is devout, there might be some interaction between the deity and her during the campaign. You never know. This is a new DM to me so don't know how open she is to that. Gonna keep your suggestion in mind in case my first choice isn't 'approved' though.

(He/Him), Pansexual dude. 🏳️🌈
I love cats, coffee and Dnd. Check out my tavern: THE PLATINUM KINGFISHER
Don't be a monday. Nobody likes mondays.
Of all the Dnd settings, Dragonlance is my absolute favourite.

Kereksa seems pretty cool! I'm happy you found a god for your character!
