for a fun mini campaign probably stretching lvl 5-9, that’s mostly RP and not a lot of combat I want to play a sorcerer. Im doubting between going full sorc (never played a full caster except for a Druid a while ago) and am doubting between shadow/aberration pure sorc, or divine soul sorc lvl 3 atleast for 2nd lvl cleric spells, and then some bard (lore/eloquence/sword?). We’ll start at 5 or 6 and probably not reach 10, so no magical secrets if I went full bard. would this offer enough utility for the social aspects? I’m not that good at the RP so I need more spells for social scenarios to help me along.
If you are only going until level 9, I would stick with straight Sorcerer. Multiclassing with Bard will allow your spell slots to scale the same as being a single class, but your available spells will all be of lower level. There are some pretty awesome 4th and 5th level spells available that you won't get access to if you multiclass as your are considering, including but not limited to Polymorph, Synaptic Static, Sickening Radiance, and Dimension Door.
A bit late (okay about 7 months late), but it really depends on what kind of campaign it will be. A mystery campaign in Barovia is going to very different from a heist campaign in Sigil or a political intrigue-filled campaign in the Dragonlance-universe. In some cases, it makes sense to multi-class with Warlock, Bard, or even Cleric.

Hey guys,

Cheers!
