I would say they are about even in most respects. Both can offer you a direct tie to your Lovecraftian being (as a patron or as the source of their innate power). Both offer a lot of utility for exploration and social situations with their subclass spell lists. Both also offer some nice spellcasting perks like Psychic Spells and Psionic Sorcery.
They are two very similar brands of of creepy spellcasters, similar enough that I'd compare them to the choice between French Vanilla or Vanilla Bean ice cream. Both great, very similar, just slightly different.
I'd say the primary difference is whether they were passive (sorcerer) or active (warlock) in their interactions with the GOO. The way most* people flavor their sorcerers is that they had no control over the fact that they are magical. Warlocks are nearly always* the opposite in that they sought it out.

Anybody knows whether the great old one warlock subclass or the aberrant sorcery subclass is better with power or Lovecraften theme?
