Hello, I'm playing in a game currently as a sorcerer, and the GM's home brew rules has different rules for long rest and short rest. As a consequence of this the casters get double the spell slots except sorcerer who get double the Sorcerer points from the Font of Magic.
Is there any way with D&D Beyond to add this to the class and it ending up on the same counter as the Normal slots are?
Or would I have to home brew my subclass and add more points there and then have two counters?
I was actually looking into creating a new subclass that offers more sorcery points (among other things). Does anyone know how one would go about adding more sorcery points and even more metamagic choices (to be able to pick an additional metamagic choice AND to make another metamagic option)?
I tried looking into it and looking how to do it. No help from Mr. Google
As there is not a homebrew class option and those features come from the Sorcerer class and not subclass, there isn't a 'clean' way to do it-- But you certainly could. You would just have two features with your Sorcerer points (the vanilla one, and your bonus points) and two features for your Metamagic options. I've done the latter for homebrew invocations, you just need to let the player know that the maximum number of options they can choose combined by the features is (#).
Since it would use the sorcerer class, simply add sorcery points. I would want to use the sorcerer base class and just add it as a sorcery subclass.. Would you know how to do this at all?

Yes, what I mean is that you wouldn't be able to modify the base class' features using a subclass.
I would recommend just making a copy of the subclass you were wanting to use, and then just add additional features for the bonus Sorcery Points and Metamagic options.
You can add an additional feature to add any additional sorcery points that you want not included in the Sorcerer class. They will not appear in the same counter as your other Sorcery Points.
You use Add a Class Feature, then you will want to create an Action. Once you have made the action with the desired settings, you will wanted to Add Limited Use Data to decide how many points you get.

I looked a little, and I think you'll have to homebrew unfortunately.
For example, you can homebrew a magic item with the correct amount of charges.

In the subclass creator, how would I do that?
Would I just have to memorize my extra sorcery points or is there a way that I can modify the counter in the builder?
