I am playing a one shot next week and have been challenged to make a sorcerer as i havent played one before. so i want to make the most powerful wild magic sorcerer (about around lv 8) as i can, how do i do that?
Character ideas for roleplay and background etc is always appreciated
I would suggest that you don't go near your allies in combat, since a 5th level fireball could be devastating to your party. I would suggest get high Charisma and the Warcaster Feat. The latter lets you get advantage on spell concentration, and you can cast a spell as an opportunity attack. I would also make constitution pretty high. Spell wise, you'll probably want chaos bolt and fireball. Banishment and blight are also really good, but remember that you can only cast each once a day, unless you use sorcery points or get the lucky number on wild magic surges. I would suggest Quickened and Subtle metamagics. The former allows you to cast a spell as a bonus action, leaving your action free. Note that if you cast a spell as a bonus action, the only other spell you can cast on that turn is a cantrip with a casting time of 1 action. The latter makes your spells counterspell-proof. Hope this helped!

Wear half plate and a shield for 19 AC. Role play as a demanding, but unpredictable, ally.
Teammate gets knocked unconscious? Shocking Grasp the monster, "Don't quit now" (Healing Word your teammate), and your teammate gets a reaction attack then walks away.
