I came to the forum to ask a question different that the one in the title ("In the Forgotten Realms, is there a famous group like the Red Wizards of Thay but made up of sorcerers?"), but now I kinda wanna know if there's a group of wild sorcerers who meet to help other wild sorcerers try to control their magic? (Okay, not really like AA, bc then they would be trying to suppress the use of their magic and that means they have a problem and aw crap I'm going down another rabbit hole...)
(AA, for those not in the know, is Alcoholics Anonymous.)
A group of sorcerers would probably start to resemble a more small scale yet high-powered version of the Dragonmarked Houses from Eberron. Or the X-Men/Brotherhood.

And with that, we're gen'ing five 5th-level sorcerers for a potential one-shot. The are... The S-Men! <ugh>
Sorcerers get their inherited power from their bloodline. To have a huge group of them (which would all be the same type of sorcerer) you would have to share a common ancestor or the circumstances of you all meeting together are very weird. WIzards study and train new people, Warlocks may induct new cult members, Sorcerers are a genetic lottery. If you change the entire flavor of where the power originates from then it becomes more likely.
However in the forgotten realms, descendants of the city of shade, (defeated in third edition) could have spawned a cabal of shadow sorcerers waiting for a moment to recover the lost city if they some how finds the right arcane pivot.
Red wizards breed monsters, its concievable that a long term breeding program of pliable 'blood magicians' was started.
Dragons with a fear of being killed in their century long hibernation sleep and the virility of a 25+ con creature may have proactively procreated an organisation of half breeds and their descendants, capable of blending in and spying may have draconic bloodlines
Empyrean (titans) may have come close to reclaiming divine power by breeding into a population of devoted followers, the consequences of them ascending to restart thier war would be horrific but what if those with the potential they themselves bred into the bloodlines could be shaped by the gods whispers? Using the titans own creations to ruin their planning.
Anything needs your DM's approval to work so keep that in mind before writing in a secret society that controls the worlds finances, but enjoy yourself regardless.

no
There isn't one as far as I know, but you could certainly create one.
