So my group is playing a campaign in the Nentir Vale currently. My half orc monk got munched on by a bunch of bullywogs. Since his untimely death Ive created an Eladrin Draconic (Gold) bloodline sorcerer. Fire as far as I can tell it’s the most viable in a standard campaign setting.
So far I’ve selected some spells and metamagic but am unsure of good combinations with my metamagic and bloodline as this is the first sorcerer I’ve ever played across any edition. I have 16 Dex and 16 Charisma. My skills are persuasion, insight, history, and Arcana with the Noble background ( court emissary). In addition I have a magic item that gives +1 damage to one damage dice for fire spells.
My spells are firebolt, minor illusion, and shocking grasp. Burning hands and chromatic orb. Finally Maximilian’s earthen grasp and shadow blade. My metamagic is subtle spell (DMs choice not mine) and twin. My twin may be switchable as I haven’t used it yet.
I know a lot of sorcerer has to do with preplanning ahead and so want to know if I really mis-stepped and if so what should i do to correct it?
Do a search for Guru's Sorcerer Guide MKII. It's a great place to start learning how to think in a way which will allow you to make helpful choices concerning your spells/metamagics and how they have to synergize together. From there, you can make adjustments based on personal play style, role play/story choices etc.
