Can somebody explain how to choose the Ancient Dragon as a Patron? I'm a sorcerer/warlock. Why is it that when I create a new character I'm unable to choose it? But my level 3 sorcerer 2 Warlock has Ancient Dragon Patron as an option.
I figured out the problem. My original character was in a campaign where the DM had added Ancient Dragon Patron to her collection for Warlock subclasses. I had not done that so when I started a new character the Ancient Dragon Patron was unavailable. I like the synergy of sorcerer/draconic lineage and warlock/Ancient Dragon Patron because my backstory includes a specific event where the character receives draconic lineage. The same event introduces an Ancient Dragon as his guide (Patron).
You wouldn't happen to have a copy of these rules would you now? I'm looking to play a Duergar who's made a pact with a Dragon and I'm still looking for a set of rules me and my GM can agree on.

Hello!

Thanks for your help!
You don't get your power from a patron as a Sorcerer, a Warlock does. If you want a thematic parallel, pick Draconic Bloodline.
Also, if you start as Warlock/Sorcerer, you can pick Patron. It's all about what class you start as.
