This character, was my very first character, I didn’t know dnd as well as I do now, almost a year later. I rolled really freaking well - so now that we are level 10 and entering our second campaign - I’m wondering if I should multiclass? My stats are all pretty good at level 10, I’ve looked at my Draconic Origin and I ultimately don’t feel like I need to take all 20 levels of this subclass. I do want to get to level 14 for the dragon wings to provide me with distance in combat and an easy way to overcome obstacles during exploration. A 6 level multiclass is a bit aggressive. I was thinking 2-4 level dip.
RP reasons; I could go cleric and have my character pick up religion in hopes to protect her group better. I could go wizard because we’ve found several tomes of spells I can’t use and have her try to learn magic via practice instead of the spells that come to her innately.
I could also take ritual caster feat to grab rituals from the tomes for added variety in spells. I’m not necessarily looking to get in the front - I still want to maintain distance in combat.
Party make up;
1. Barbarian 2/Ranger 8 (Gloom Stalker)
2. Bard College of Whispers
3. Arcane Trickster Rogue
4. Circle of the Moon Druid
5. The Druid has a ‘familiar’ in the form of a baby white dragon we’ve adopted.
Also most of my spells are focused around being a blaster, thematically I’m trying to take spells that a dragon could actually perform. Mostly cold magic, lightning magic or spells of light that I reflavor as ‘aurora’.
Just want to get some ideas what others might think. I’m personally leaning a 3 level dip in divination wizard...unless I could make warlock work with my dm in which case I’m thinking 3 lvls of celestial warlock pact of the tome.
You won't get religion from cleric. The multiclass rules don't say that you gain a skill from the class list if you multiclass into cleric. Only for rangers, rogues and bards. If you want to be a spell sniper, then taking the feat named so is a good idea, and maybe stars druid. As long as you two druids talk, then it can work. And sixty level dip means you get the weal/woe thing. If not, wizard seems like a good idea (wants to increase power, but can't naturally, so has to study).

for a 2-3 level dip, Warlock is the pick I'd toss out there for reasons that are easy to find on the internet.

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.
You can also stay a sorcerer and take the Ritual Caster and Magic Initiate feats to gain some spellcasting flexibility. And your role playing justification is the scrolls and spellbooks that you’ve found.
hexblade is great for long range blasters too. They frontloaded that patron /way/ too much and most of those features should have been pct of the blade anyways.

Hey Everyone,

If you want to be a blaster, take that a couple levels of Warlock. Blaster = Eldritch Blast.
Too bad you took Twinned spell. Quickened is better for a multi caster, particularly with Eldritch Blast.
Hexblade multiclass would be good, just Incase if you ever need to get in melee combat.
