Warlock is my favorite class in 5th edition Dungeons & Dragons. One of my favorite elements is that certain race and patron combinations have a nice fluffy feel to them as well as being mechanically sound.
I agree. Drow could work for all three. Honestly, you could put pretty much any race for any of the Patrons. Some would be highly ironic, like my choice for the Fiend. I honestly forgot that Drow were ruled by the Demon Queen of Spiders, and thus sort of Fiendish themselves.
Patron - The Fiend - Drow - Which Sorcerous Origin? None of them really fit as I see it. Surely not Aberrant Mind, Clockwork Soul, Divine Soul, Draconic Bloodline, or Storm Sorcery... That leaves Shadow Magic and the Archfey. Shadar-Kair are pretty much custom built for Shadow Magic. They are the creation of the Raven Queen and the Shadowfell. The Archfey?
The Archfey would be one of those ironic choices. The same thing that makes them good for the Fiend is what makes it so. They are the property of Lolth, and she wouldn't willingly see one go over to the Fey side of things.
The same of course applies for the Hexblade. The Shadar-Kai are the most obvious choice, and I was going for the most obvious ones with each of my suggestions.
Eilistraee might be considered a Celestial patron, as she's a lesser goddess, although of course she could be the deity for a Drow Cleric too, or somehow connected to a Divine Soul sorcerer.
Given that Drow magic is charisma based it's probably more efficient to stick to Divine Soul Sorcerer or Celestial Warlock rather than try to build a Cleric on a Dark Elf base.
With a good background story any combo will work. My Half-Elf Warlock sees himself being discriminated against and wrongfully outcast from elven society. He turned to the archfiend Malkizid, former Solar to Corellon, and now wants to shake up the orthodox traditions of eleven society while personally he always sees and introduces himself as a High Elf (needs to hide the fact that he shaves himself regularly / Charlatan Background).
Love it. Enough potential for endless personal drama and conflict and my DM is eager to use it.
Verdan as Great Old One? *reads about them in the wiki for the first time* how exactly do they fit if i may ask? just curious.
Though if you'd ask me Kalashtar or Simic Hybrids (kinda) fit the most of all races.

Born under the watch of something from the furthest corners of the far realms.... It knows all.... it sees all... and it asks: "What is it that you want to see?"... and my answer is... ALL"
Drow/Dark Elf could fit easily with Fiend, Archfey, or Hexblade.
I could see Fiend and kinda hexblade but why Archfey?

The origins of all Elves lie in the Feywild if I understand the lore correctly and Elves are the closest mortal relatives to the Fey, so regardless of what Elf line they belong to an Elf could always find allies among Fey.

The Archfey presented in Domains of Delight, Yarnspinner, might be a good choice. Its a huge lawful good spider that reads stories and loves books. Seems perfect for a heroic Drow archfey pact of the tome.

The Verdan were originally goblins who were morphed by That-Which-Endures, who is typically considered as a Great Old One representing entrophy and chaos.
Yeah they sometimes line up pretty good, which is neat. I like trying to do similar things with Sorcerers, but it usually doesn’t work as well.
So like your Sorcerous Origins?
Changling - Aberrant Mind - A Mind Flayer
Warforged - Clockwork Soul - A Mondron
Aasimar - Divine Soul - A Celestial
Dragonborn - Draconic Bloodline - A Dragon
Shadar-Kai Elf - Shadow Magic - The Raven Queen
Air Genasi - Storm Sorcery - A Storm Giant
Satyr - Wild Magic - An Archfey

So then. Sorlock...
Patron - The Archfey - Satyr - Wild Magic
Patron - The Celestial - Aasimar - Divine Soul
Patron - The Fathomless - Triton, Locathah or Water Genasi - Storm Sorcery
Patron - The Fiend - Tiefling or Aasimir - Divine Soul. (Highly ironic, but fun)
Patron - The Genie - Air or Water Genasi - Storm Sorcery
Patron - The Great Old One - Gith - Aberrant Mind
Patron - Hexblade - Shadar-Kai - Shadow Magic
Patron - The Undead - Reborn/Warforged - Clockwork Soul
Patron - The Undying - Dhampir - Shadow Magic

Still, good idea that I hadn't considered.

Ideal Voice Claim
Kenku/Old One is rather fun as it gives a workaround for the Kenku speech thing,.
