I'm playing a 5th level Scourge Aasimar Aberrant mind sorc in Avernus, for RP and play reasons (lots of magic resistance) I plan on taking 2 levels in celestial warlock at 7 and 8. I'll definitely be taking Agonizing Blast but am having a hard time deciding on the second as it will be with me for the rest of the campaign.
I'm deciding between Devil's Sight to be able to fight on even ground with devils in magic darkness. Eldritch Mind for advantage on concentration checks, pretty great. Eldritch Sight at will detect magic, because it finds lots of hidden stuff. Eyes of the Rune Keeper as a dark horse, because my character's backstory has him spending lots of time in books and libraries researching. Gaze of Two Minds as another dark horse, for the psychic flavor. And repelling blast, quickened eldritch blast with a 10 knockback per hit is hard to argue against.
I'm still pretty new to the game so just looking for some input from anyone who has seen these in action to help make a decision.
I will say that my Eldritch Sight has been VERY useful for my Hexblade. Even if you have someone in your party who can ritual-cast it, being able to pop it out whenever and cover more area when searching is quite nice.
How are you fixed for AC? I know you get prof. in Light Armor when you multiclass into Warlock, but if you don't have easy access to a set of Studded Leather, the Armor Of Shadows invocation might be helpful.

Well, idk we are in Avernus now but, there are corpses and I assume an abandoned shop we could loot in Elturel. The DM seems like he'd make one available at some point though.
I think I've ruled out Devil's Sight as that would probably be situational and Eyes of the Rune Keeper because I'll probably just take Comprehend Languages in addition to Hex and Guiding Bolt as my warlock spells.
I should add that we have a wild magic Barbarian, so they have a limited use detect magic.
I have a +2 con mod so as a sorcerer I'll be getting +5 / +6 on my concentration checks, so passing a DC10 check would be like a %25 / %20 of failure. I'm not sure of the math but would taking Eldritch Mind then take that down to %12.5 / %10 chance?
I do also have the telekinetic feat, so I have a much smaller ability to move creatures than Repelling Blast.
I postponed taking my dip for RP reasons. We are about to hit level 9, so I'll wait until 10 and 11 for the 5th level spell goodness.
I've narrowed it down to Eldritch Mind or Repelling Blast. I'm leaning fairly strongly towards EM as I do have telekinetic shove and dissonant whispers for getting out of AOO range. As a Scourge I like to use Radiant Consumption but that forces me to make a concentration check every round, plus my DM does like to put pressure on me in the back. I twin Haste a fair amount which is extra bad to drop.
Anyway, I'm just reviving this thread in case anyone has any last minute argument to sway me one way or another.
Tough call. With sorc as your primary class though you already have proficiency in CON saves, so EM isn't quite as valuable to you as it would be for pure warlocks or other MCs. And just because you're already doing telekinetic shoves, that doesn't mean RB wouldn't still be useful -- you could double up on the battlefield control (hit with eldritch blast, move them 10 feet, then shove them another 5 with your bonus action). Imagine shoving the pesky enemy spellcaster around a corner with that combo so they lose line of sight (and then can't counterspell your allies)...
I'd go Repelling Blast, but if you have been making a lot of concentration checks, Eldritch Mind certainly isn't a bad choice

You are already a sorcerer so you have con saves. Eldritch Mind would otherwise be a great choice. Here it will give you a little bit of help.
You already have darkvision so I don't think devil's sight is a must have.
I would probably take repelling blast. It can break grapples and will help keep enemies off of you and others.
