i have 8 levels in totem bear barbarian and am the parties main tank we are a fairly large party (me, paladin, monk, druid, and 3 rogues for some god forsaken reason) what patron would be best for a 3 level dip into warlock? i have considered celestial as our healer the druid misses a lot of sessions due to being very busy and that would be a good way to make sure anyone who goes down can get back up aswell as hexblade as hexblades curse would be some nice bonus damage
Whatever patron you go for be sure to take Pact of the Chain and take the Gift of the Ever-Living Ones invocation. Max healing is great for Barb tanks as the healing is effectively doubled because of the damage reduction from Rage.
Have you considered Undead Patron? The Temp HP from Form of Dread is also effectively doubled by Rage and it gives you another use for your Bonus Action. And while you do not have the best DC for the fear effect, you can just consider any time it triggers as a juicy bonus.
If you do go a non Celestial Patron then perhaps consider the Gift of the Metallic Dragon feat to learn Cure Wounds which you can also use the Warlock spell slots to cast. The feat also grants you a handy reaction ability to boot.
I did a barbarian with 2 levels of celestial lock. The healing was nice to add to a party. I think the undead is probably the better one for offense, or perhaps fiend since the temp HP might be a more useful 1 level dip.
