Had a player try this and wondering if the at end of turn damage = to half level would actually proc hexblade curse or not. I allowed it but it seems sketchy.
Are you talking about how the Hexblade's Curse provides a bonus to damage rolls? You're the DM so you can decide for your game whether you want it to only apply when the damage itself is rolled for (rather than a set amount), or whether you're fine with it being applied to damage dealt, even if there are no damage rolls. I probably would go with the former, but I am pretty exhausted so my interpretation may be a little off.
ok I get ya. Thanks for the replies. that helps. Looked at what Jeremy crawford said and where he said, "That's a damage roll of any sort, whether caused by a weapon, a spell, or something else." The something else kind of threw me for a loop. no dice roll for damage no hexblade curse.
