Do you see any things not working in the following?
I play a GOO warlock, and summon a ghost with Summon Undead. I establish a telepathic connection with ghost using Awakened Mind. Now I can command the ghost telepatically. Then I establish the Gaze of Two Minds connection with a bonus action, and which I will maintain throughout. Then I command the ghost to move through a wall (I am in a dungeon). Behind the wall are enemies. I attack the enemies using Eldritch blast and other spells. And the ghost moves back through the wall if threatened by the enemies and returns on its next turn to attack again. When combat is over I cast Misty step from the position of the ghost to get into the room. This ends Gaze of two minds, but I can establish the connection again the following turn. This way I can explore a dungeon in all directions. It is a quite nice utility in dungeon exploration and other types of exploration.
I use GOO warlock to be able to command the ghost despite not being able to issue verbal commands through walls.
The rules on how exactly casting a spell "as if you were in" someone else's space are a little murky. Given the way it's worded, Misty Step might still be limited to a range of 30 feet from where you are, not from where the Ghost is. However, you don't actually need to cast the spell from the Ghost's space to make that work anyway, since you can use the Ghost's senses to see the destination.
I agree on the sleight challenge of Gaze of two minds being murky on the implications of casting the spell as in your position or the other creatures position. I interpret this as providing flexibility on range i.e. counting from the other creatures position, and thus flexibility in the placing of the area of effect, what you can see from the other position, and direction of the effect, i.e. being able to repelling blast a creature towards yourself. I guess this is the flexibility offered by this invocation.

That is how I rule it for this and the wizard subclass with a similar effect. You are still where you are and the spell only teleports you 30 feet. But this allows you do to somethings misty step normally couldn't like teleport to an area you can't see.
Thank you both for your comments. I do believe that the implication of casting a spell as if you were in another creature’s space includes assessing the range of that spell from the other position. You are allowed to be 60 feet away, and if the range should be counted from your position then there are several spells that would end up not being eligible.

Most of that seems like it would work.
