I'm playing as a neutral bladesinger wizard, but I want to lie about my class to obscure this. Last time I pretended I was a sorcerer, but now I want to pretend to be a warlock. I haven't played a warlock before though, so are there any warlock subclasses or patrons that would be easy or funny to lie about having, and are there any important features I should remember to pretend to have?

Remember that a warlock's spell powers, at least in edition 5.5, do not mesh with the spell powers of other casters. Whereas other casters spell slots are recovered after a Long Rest, a warlock's spell slots are recovered after either a Long Rest OR a Short Rest. Also, a warlock also has Eldritch Invocations that permit the warlock to cast various spells without using a spell slot. Also, a warlock does not have as wide a range of possible spell changes as a wizard or a sorcerer.
The five basic type of warlock patrons are, Archfey, Celestial, Fiendish, Great Old One and Vestige. An Archfey patron will encourage the warlock to specialize in illusion spells, charm and enchantment spells and in various short range teleportation spells. The Celestial patron will instruct the warlock in healing party members. The Fiend will encourage the warlock to learn and cast Fireball and other evocation spells. The Great Old One will encourage the warlock to cast psychic damage spells and to embrace the strange plane of unreality called the Far Realm. The Vestige patron is a ghostly fragment of a dead god in search of some one, any one, to pray to it.
One last point, most warlock's are proficient only with Simple Melee Weapons (spear, javelin, club, dagger, dart, mace, quarterstaff). Warlocks are usually NOT proficient with swords(Great sword, long sword, scimitar, rapier, short sword and so on). So, you might want to be careful with the melee weapon you choose to wield.
