The character was a level 2 paladin and level 7 sorcerer before, but he had his old psychic powers reawaken recently (had this character for 3 previous campaigns and at the end of each one he gets his powers stripped away to defeat the BBEG).
I have planned for this character to go up to 8th level warlock and 12th level paladin (either Ancients or Vengeance). I'm not sure what spells, invocations, or pact to get.
Right now I'm thinking of taking Pact of the Blade and the following invocations; Gaze of Two Minds, Improved Pact Weapon, Eldritch Smite, and Eyes of the Rune Keeper.
A friend is telling me to take Pact of the Chain for the max heal invocation, and another is telling me to get Pact of the Tome for the extra spells. I haven't made a warlock before and I don't know how to build one.
For your build I would stick with Pact of the Blade for Improved Pact Weapon and to combine Eldritch Smite with Divine Smite. This will give you ability to dish out serious damage...although it will cost you some serious resources.
I love Pact of the Chain but I wouldn't take it simply for Gift of the Ever-Living Ones...As a Paladin you've already got plenty of healing. Tomelocks are great also.
