So my general thought was a Tiefling of some sort, possibly Glassya or Dispater, who got roped into their contract while drunk. Now they have a ton of power that they don't know what to do with, and a fiend's voice in their ear constantly telling them to go out into the world and do their bidding. (Could also be a Lightfoot Halfling, as he wasn't destined to be a fighter and his previous lifestyle reflects that.)
They're a no-good drunk forced out into adventuring against their will, who rides off of the glory the party gives them. The party brings in coin, which supports their destructive alcoholism. Their morals reflect this, but they won't protest too loudly with the party's desires because you never bite the hand that supports your crippling habit.
Any build tips? What pact should I go with, to maximize the usefulness of Glassya/Dispater's innate casting?
No, really. They're absolutely the worst tricksters, more than willing to take advantage of a drunk tiefling (or halfling) and fool him into becoming a Warlock.
Also, they were impersonating a fiend when they did it. So he thinks he's got a pact with a devil, not a fey. And he's got pact of the chain, so there's this obnoxious fey spirit harassing him, but it takes the form of an imp. (or a quasit, but imps are cooler.)
The fey pact should work just fine with Glassya or Dispater's innate spells. With the Dex bonus, I'd be tempted to go with the Blade Pact, but your character's back story just screams Chain pact, so I'd say go with it.

A Fey did it!

DICE FALL, EVERYONE ROCKS!
If I'm gonna go Chain Feylock, then I'll reskin my initial Tabaxi idea I had. Probably use the Imp like you said.
