By odd warlock I mean the character for whom I am trying to build a backstory is a Fallen Aasimar Celestial Warlock. The Challenge with which I am struggling is fairly fundamental: how did he fall and what subsequently led to a celestial offering him a pact?
So I would start with this: Did he fall before or after he made a pact?
If it was after the pact, why did he fall and is his Patron trying to correct him? Was it a moment of greed or selfishness that he fell victim to. A fit of anger leading him to burn a church, commit a murder, steal from the orphanage, or some other crime?
Or did fall before, and Patron has granted him power to seduce him to the side of good as part of redemption?
In both cases, he could have been just touched by darkness (as written in the description of the race). A curse from a hag? A family curse, that he could be trying to lift?

All options are optional! GLHF
Perhaps it was not him that fell, but the celestial forefather, and he is trying to redeem himself for another's sin.
