My group is playing through Curse of Strahd and we just met Victor and his skeletal cats. My character is a Tabaxi Swashbuckler Rogue (DEX/CHA). Well his 6 skeleton cats have taken to liking me and are now following me around everywhere.
My question is how can I turn this situation into a reason to multiclass into Warlock (Probably The Undying with Pact of the Blade) I was thinking maybe the cats have been whispering things to me in secret? Or maybe some sort of undead god is speaking to me through the cats, and my character is too naive to realize it’s a god and not just the cute little kitties talking to him? What patrons even make sense to pact with in Barovia? I’m honestly unsure how to go about this.

This is actually so much easier than it appears to you I imagine.
Truth is: finding a plot device to let someone multi-class isn't really necessary. Just talk to your DM and tell them you're interested in adding some points into warlock and have them help you find the storyline part that works for them.
I know I am not FORCED to find a plot reason to multiclass, but I actually WANT to find a plot reason that makes sense for this multiclass, and was hoping to get suggestions from fellow players.

The patron the Warlock chooses is a pretty big RP point for them so It's totally cool if you want it to fit. In that campaign there is plenty of dark secrets and magics to have garnered interest from. I wouldn't want to make a cat my patron though, maybe they are agents of one you can RP into being endorsed by.
I would make the lead cat an agent of the Undying. It told you a ritual to do that would help you. You don't necessarily have to know who they represent at first, just that you got powers when you did what they said. Then at 3rd level the cat becomes your Pact of the Chain familiar.
I think that making a pact with these skeleton cats should come with a "curse..." - Maybe you feel compelled to somewhat casually knock stuff off of tables.

I'm all on board with this. I'm a huge proponent of finding RP reasons to multiclass or make big character changes, And this is a really great one. I'm so happy to read this.
The suggestion Unruly_Cow gave of one of the cats being an agent of the Undying one is good. One of the cats is like the crow in the movie 'The Crow'. It could also just be that, as you are nice to these cats, you have drawn the attention of the Undying One, who has a fondness for the cats. Save one of them from harm at some point and, bam, you get an 'offer you don't want to refuse'. If I was the DM, I'd be strongly tempted, if you went Chain, to let you summon your familiar in the form of a skeletal cat as well. Give you the option of the other forms, but let one be skeletal cat.
You could even flavor your Undying One patron as the Lord of Undead Felines. The skeletal cats whispering secrets to you is pretty cool.

Easy as that.

Looking for new subclasses, spells, magic items, feats, and races? Opinions welcome :)
