Hello! I need help coming up with a backstory for a GOO Warlock/Wizard, as I'm struggling to come up with one. Anything is appreciated, from patron ideas to a full on backstory. The world isn't too relevant, I'm sure I could make anything work if given the 'go ahead' from my DM. Thank you in advance!
EDIT: For mechanical build I'm going with, I found a build where you use Armor of Agathys with Arcane Ward from Abjuration Wizard for a lot of Armor of Agathys damage, and I'm going to continue to level up Wizard mostly. I also took the Crossbow Expert feat, so I can re-flavour Eldritch Blasts as magical punches, and out of combat, I can spam-cast Mage Armor (Armor of Shadows invocation) to regain my Arcane Ward. To put it simply, Hexblade but without the weapons.
Edit: thanks! GOOs have great flavor, but as a patron / learner relationship, it helps to know more about the learner so we can see what kind of Patron might take you up on the relationship.
Forgive me, but How does crossbow expert flavor EB? I don't follow.
Also slight edit:As for Patrons: Gla'aki for their wisdom, or for your creativity, the celestial toymaker. Since you're being clever, and thinking outside the box, both seem viable.
With Crossbow Expert, ranged attack rolls do not have disadvantage if they are within 5 feet of the target, therefore I can flavour them as magical punches. Also, thank you for the help!

You're welcome! I didn't realize that crossbow expert applied to *all* ranged attacks, like spell sniper applies to all ranged spells. Good to know, thanks!

I have a single class warlock who started studying to be a wizard but was lazy so he made a pact with a book that he found in the library. He never completed his studies as a wizard, but he remembered some of it so he took the Magic Initiate feat at first level and he calls himself a war mage, pretending that he’s a trained wizard instead of a warlock. You could do something similar only start with 2 levels of wizard before becoming a warlock.
To return to the original premise, Gla'aki would be great if you're really going for the deep knowledge of magic Wizlock effort. If you're more interested in being the super clever builder of magical devices and weaponry, then the celestial toymaker is a rarely used GOO that could really be a clever hit with your DM and great RP flavor.

Edited the original post to hopefully clarify this, thank you!
