So I recently started playing using some of the UA mechanics and I was wondering if people would offer some advice/suggestions/critiques on what I've rolled up so far.
Mark of Passage Revived Rogue level 3/Fiend Warlock level 1
The plan is to go Tome and focus on utility to complement the starting levels of Rogue. I'm new to Warlock class so if there is anything you can offer in advice would be much appreciated.
If you want more info just let me know and I'll pass more along on my character.
I think we'd need more ideas / character background. What's the cause of your thievery? And if revived, why not undying as opposed to fiend? I'm personally agnostic as to your choice, but in order to provide advice, I think we'll want more back story.

I like Fiendlock for the Dark One's Blessing, but it would be interesting to hear more character concept to direct thoughts more. There are plenty of character concepts just with the rogue, let alone adding the warlock.
The idea behind the character is that he does not know he is revived and his past lives actually go in cycles. He started his first life as a rogue. The reason to not choose the Undying was because his Warlock side came from finding a tome after killing an unknown Tiefling who radiated pure evil and opening said tome. This gave him a vision of the Shadowfell where he was introduced to the Raven Queen where he was basically given a choice to make a pact and not seeing a way out, he pretty much shrugged and said, "Why not?"
I chose Fiend but have spoken to my DM about actually going with a different choice as I did not know who the pact would be made with (though to be honest, I prefer the perks of the Fiend over the other choices.)
Now, my DM made a few changes to things as well. By taking the pact (and based on my Revived choice) I have become Undead (basically becoming like a human Shadar-Kai) and now am tasked with keeping the balance of life and death by eliminating those that wish to control death to their whims I.e. vampires, necromancers, etc.
So you're pact of the tome, fiend patron, got it. Most times, Raven Queen is a hexblade, so you may be questioned as to why you're not. As a revived rogue, guarding the line between life and death, it's going to be an odd patron effort. Maybe a partly redeemed fiend, or at least one who values death for its own value, the natural progression of death.
So, given that, if you're guarding the balance, you'll want to be perceptive: Eldritch sight, for example. Some useful and flavorful cantrips, other than EB, might be: Toll the Dead, Spare the dying, infestation and friends (can help the natural passage of the dying, allaying fears). Then your spells and invocations should match said theme. It's a cool concept, think it'll need some fleshing out

Most definitely. My DM and I are going to be getting together this weekend and I'll be talking some things over with him about some changes possibly. I actually thought about going hexblade but chose fiend (albeit before knowing who the patron was going to be). The idea I've had behind him is to keep him more utility with his cantrips and abilities. The idea is to have him be powerful enough to stop those that are upsetting the balance to their own gains, but at the same time being able to ease the passing of those that are at the end of their time.

With that goal in mind, take a look at Grave domain Cleric as well. It's not a perfect fit story wise, but thematically it fits well and could be a great back up option if your discussion with the DM leaves you feeling like one aspect isn't a great fit.
