So I'm playing a STR based fiend bladelock with 16 strength (14 charisma if anyone's interested, thinking about bumping it up but STR takes precedent). I have the Booming Blade cantrip, which I'm realizing after level 5 will mainly only be useful to me for opportunity attacks, for which I'll need War Caster. My question is whether I should improve my STR to 18 at level 4 or whether I should take warcaster now to maximize effectiveness. We're playing in a mini campaign where we generally level up once per session, and I think the plan is to end the mini-campaign around levels 8-10, so if I wait till lv 8 for it, I won't have a ton of time to use it.
I guess it's not that I get AoO's that often particularly, it's more that the cantrip is almost entirely useless to me in other situations, so I'm wondering if I basically just waste a cantrip slot and move on, or try to salvage the situation. I may just do the ASI and forget about it. As a bladelock, I probably don't need to rely on cantrips as much as your typical warlock anyways.

Thoughts?
Do you often get opportunity attacks? If so, Warcaster sounds good. Otherwise, I'd go with a primary stat ASI.

You're expecting to play to level eight; what level do you start at? You won't get a second attack until Warlock level five.
We started at level 2, so after two sessions we're at level 4 now.
