I have a lvl 3 Hexblade currently using a Glaive as my Pact and Hex weapon. My Cha is 18, so I was going to get a feat. I was thinking either GWM or Heavily Armored. The only other melee class we have in the party is a Storm Herald Barb who I already have more AC (I have 16 he has 14). Keep in mind I am going to multiclass into Paladin after Lvl 5 for RP reasons (and I really like pallys). When I switch to paladin I will most likely go sword and board for the AC boost.
Do you have a high enough Strength score not to be slowed down by Heavy Armor? Either way, based on your current plan I would avoid GWM, since it sounds like you'd only be making use of it for a couple of levels.
What do the rest of your ability scores look like?
Normally GWM will give you the bonus attack with any two-handed melee weapon attack, but you can only do the -5/+10 attack with a heavy weapon. Besides, you mentioned you were looking to go sword & shield, which means you'd mostly be attacking one-handed. With your scores, going from Medium to Heavy armor only raises your max AC by 1, not counting any magic armor you find along the way. Honestly, if I hit Level 4 with that character I'd probably skip a feat and take Cha+1/Wis+1 to bring them to 20 & 10, respectively.

Could use some advice as a new player. Thanks!!
If you are going to do sword and board, do /not/ take GWM. Most of the features will no longer work for you. I'd take a stat increase over a feat tbh.

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.
with your advice and after talking with my DM, a feat a Lvl 4 just doesn't make sense, so I will definitely be taking the ability score increases. Thanks so much to you both!

Str 15, dex 14, Con 16, wis 9, int 10, cha 19. DM would likely allow me to use GWM with longsword if/when I used it 2h.
