Basically I am running a Fiend patron (all praise to Graz'zt) Tomelock, back story of child abducted by cultists and hunting down said cultists of Orcus was granted power by Graz'zt. I haven't finished playing with warlocks however if our last session is anything to go by, I am not sure my Tomelock is going to last much longer. I was thinking about building a Hexblade as a backup character and wanting to tie my backstories together. With my "son" being found by Graz'zt and granted power and being told where to find me obviously it being too late when he does find me. So can Graz'zt be both a fiend and a hexblade patron?
I don't see why not. Talk to your DM. Graz'zt should be able to grant whatever powers he wants to. Hexblade in particular is really nebulous, and makes very little common sense.

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.
The Hexblade gets their pact from an entity of the Shadowfell, either sentient weapons made using the magics of the realm or the creators of said weapons like the Raven Queen.
That's not to say that your DM couldn't reflavor the Hexblade subclass, but the above is typically who you would make a pact with as a Hexblade.

Also sentient weapons are known to change hands and allegiance from those that created them from time to time, so your Hexblade patron could be a Shadowfell sentient weapon that considers Graz'zt to be its wielder/master and as such follows his orders/will. That would be an easy solution.
or...you can ignore that sentient shadowfell weapon foolishness in the first place and just flavor it how you want.

Of course, but you could do that with any of the patrons if you are creative enough. I just wanted the Op to be aware of what the Hexblade patron typically is so he can work around it and made a suggestion working within the typical patron depiction.
Hexblade is one of the easier Warlocks to reflavor.

Cheers for the ideas, I know what the typical Hexblade is. I was just trying to think of a way to flavour it with my backstory and carry on playing a warlock lol Now if Graz'zt traps my soul into a weapon and gives it to my son, he keeps us both in service to him, hmmmmm!
You could always do that or if you would like to keep your current character (My personal preference because I don't like swapping out characters in the middle of a campaign if they don't die) you could always go about it in a Roleplay sense.
For example, if your current character feels like he can't beat the Cult of Orcus as he his. He could always beseech his Patron through (maybe over multiple sessions if you DM wants) prayer/sacrifice/Ritual to ask for a blade or power designed to bring them low. In exchange for a Task he must preform or whatever other deal wants to be made, he'll give you the blade forged of shadow and imbued with his power granting you the Hexblade Archtype in exchange for your current powers.
That is just a basic idea, in the end it could be however you and your DM chooses to do it.

I had thought about doing something similar to that come level 8, with the optional ability in Tasha's. But I don't think we are going to make it that far and we are already level 7 lol

I kinda dig that idea
