A character idea I had a few nights ago is that they accidentally made a wish in a well since they didn't believe in magic, and gained powerful spells that drove them mad from the pure magic radiation. Since it was a pact i was thinking warlock, but it could also be a sorcerer because of the radiation madness and the fact they didn't know about the wish, so what should I do since I basically only ever play clerics bards and paladins
You could make a great Thomas Covenent the Unbeliever character. He doesn't believe he actually has power, but is hallucinating in a coma. However he will defend his life because he thinks if he dies here he dies for real.
Warlock: say a Genie appears from the well. Your unbeliever laughingly makes a pact with him.
Sorcerer magic erupts from him at the next inappropriate moment.
Sorlock: even more confusing for your unbeliever. He takes a two level dip into warlock, and the rest in sorcerer.
Your unbeliever could even be from our world, and the poorly worded wish transported him to a world where magic is commonplace. Now he thinks he is in a coma and its all a potentially deadly dream...He could belittle powerful entities telling them they are not real to their faces. Turn down offers of knighthood. Basically his companions are amused by his inability to come to terms with the real world, but are impressed with his skill with spells.

To me that sounds like a Wild Magic Sorcerer. I love Warlocks, but you just described a great background for a Sorcerer.
