So, I've been considering grabbing the Fighting Initiate feat in Tasha's for my Bladelock so that I can learn a fighting style. Would a pact weapon count as proficiency with a martial weapon since you have proficiency with whatever weapon you're bonded with?
The answer is yes, your class ability gives you proficiency in the weapon when you're bonded to it.
I am curious what fighting style you're looking to take, I did a quick look at them all and I didn't see one that required proficiency in a weapon to use? Though to be honest, pretty there are better feats out there to take than Fighting Initiate for a Bladelock.
I'm doing a fathomless bladelock with a great sword. I just wanted to grab either dualing or great weapon fighting. The feat requires proficiency, not the fighting style.
