So I have an Order of Scribes wizard that has a couple of levels of Artificer. Since the two classes share many of the same first level spells I was curious of how to get the artificer’s prepared spells into the spellbook to free up non-shared spell to be used instead.
Option One. Because the wizard knows the spell just let him copy them into the spellbook using the magic pen to save time but still costing the 50gp per spell.
Option Two. Artificer created spell scrolls as normal and use those to transfer into the spellbook. The question being do you need to pay twice since the cost is normally to experiment to put the spell in your own words?
Option Three. DM hand waves and the spells the classes share appear in the spellbook because this would cost way to much at level 4.
In the PHB, it states that copying spells from your own spell book take less time than normal because you understand your own writing. I would probably allow a player to copy spells from their spell book without spending any gold and in half the time under the above circumstances, but I’m not entirely sure.
You can scribe the spells you know through your wizard class, not artificer, even if they are common to both lists. Maybe your DM does it a different way,

Agreed though option 2 still works if the spell is on the wizard class list. If you find a scroll containing a spell on the wizard list you can copy it 8nto your spellbook. If it was created by you the same applies

Anything more is up to the DM.
But if it was created by you do you need to pay the scroll tax twice?
