I've been looking into how many spells I can have prepared in my spellbook and the rules I've come accross say that your prepared spells are equal to your INT modifier and Wizard class level combined.
My Wizard is level 4 with a +5 to INT so as I understand it I should be able to prepare 9 spells, however my character sheet on Beyond only allows me to prepare 7 spells.
Can someone enlighten me as to what I'm missing please? :)
The 2014 rules were level +int. Under 2024, there’s just a set number based on level, which at level 4 is 7. So my guess is you’re using the ‘24 class, but reading the ‘14 rules.
To expand on what Xalthu said: in D&D Beyond, the 2014 and 2024 versions of each class are implemented as two separate classes. The 2024 ones are shown first in the list and are not labeled as "2024", just as "Core Rules", so it's easy to miss that you've selected one. The 2014 ones can be found by scrolling down in the list of classes on the Class tab; they're under a separate section labeled "2014 Core Rules".
You probably want to check with your DM about which set of rules you should be using, and then make sure you've selected the right version.
The best use of a Wizad is... in my way of seeing this ""silly"" problem:
Reach lvl 2 easily and save the enough money to buy blankscrolls (10 at least). Then spend some hours writing some spells from the lvl1 you have yet in your Magic spellbook. Then try sell those on the market, just to get as rich as possible. Later, with several hundreds on your pockets, and not being spotted by random thieves, ((damm thieves!!)) get as much spell scrolls as you can with diferent spells written on them. Buy more blank scrolls. So, after scribing the new scrolls into your spellscroll, just use the blank scrools to add some spells on it.
And here is the key to success, don't put spells from any lvl, just put cantrips into those blank spell scrolls you have. And then you'll become richer than ever if you sell them by a rare prize. hahahahahaha

Open a Bastion, get others to do this for you. Then you get to go nuke some Gelatinous Oozes or whatever the monster of the day is. Best of both worlds

That's totally it! Thanks so much :D
Will definitely be having a conversation with my DM about this, thanks a lot! :)
