So I noticed that some other class-based forums had threads that basically had people showing off their characters to everybody else, but I could not find any such thread here in the Wizard section, so I thought I would make one. Share everything you feel is worth sharing: name, race, age, gender, alignment, what feats and background they took, favored school and favored spells, their backstory, personalities, and motivations, what magic items they use, et cetera. Be as detailed as you want.
My wizard is Morrigan Devlin, from a human noble family - though it's noble mostly just in name, as they're quite poor. (Aptly, currently Morrigan has 5 cp to her name.) They also are rumored to be cursed by Wee Jas, and Morrigan occasionally has to deal with negative reactions when NPCs learn her family name.
She's a necromancer, following in her mother's footsteps as an arcane researcher - her father was a medical doctor of the mundane variety. I wanted to build her more as a control wizard, but the necromancy school ability tends towards straight damage-dealing spells. So far I'm having fun using catapult in creative ways.
People have good reason to think she's cursed because she was born with arcane text all over her body for reasons no one knows, though there are theories it's a side effect of her mother's magical research. (I took inspiration from the character Vinculus in Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, one of my favorite books of all time.) Mechanically, what this means is that the two "free" spells that she gets at every level are spells tattooed on her body; she is simply learning to decipher more and more of them as time goes on. She also has a spellbook that she uses to transcribe wizard spells like normal.
I play Morrigan like a stereotypical wizard, in a way, in that she is very knowledge-hungry. I drew inspiration from the "anatomists" of the late 18th and early-to-mid-19th century Britain; she is genuinely interested in furthering society's knowledge of the human body and medicine, and she's frustrated that societal taboos prevent her from obtaining the dead bodies she believes is necessary for her research. She's not evil, in that she genuinely thinks she's helping society as a whole, but her disregard for people's feelings w/r/t death make her decidedly not good either. She does have a soft spot for other people experiencing unfounded prejudice, being on the receiving end of it herself often enough. This even led to her casting mage armor on an "evil" cleric that the party encountered when some allied NPCs attacked the cleric; her feelings were justified when it turned out the "evil" cleric was on the same greater mission that they were, and the allied NPCs attacked unprovoked because they assumed he was up to no good.

Rufus Alstock, my 9th level wizard backup character. An urbane human male, roughly thirty years old with prematurely grey hair, he is from a fairly well to-do background but spent a lot of his twenties aboard a... ahem... "fishing" vessel sailing around the world, working as the navigator while chronicling his experiences. While physically unimpressive he's a shrewd judge of character, highly educated in a wide variety of topics, good with money, and quite charming, so he's basically survived so far by being useful/likeable to people who might otherwise want to kill him. Oh, and he's quite good at the magic.
Since retiring from work as a navigator he travels the world with his mule and trap, which holds his collection of travelling literature (approximately 400 books he considers essential reading/his favourites). He's considering opening a school if he can find a village or town that takes his fancy.
Cas, a changeling Illusionist who found herself in an Asylum in with a human form of a woman she did not know. Her dreams... or memories of events and lives of several people but she doesn't know if it's theirs or when she was living as them. The one thing she remember is that her first tome is missing and she's desperate to find it, for reasons she cannot comprehend. The tome with her in the asylum seem to look like a journal to anyone else besides her, as she sees the spells woven between the lines. A lucid dream of her getting exposed and killed shock her mind and so she escaped the asylum to see what sort of life she lived .... or what sort of life she will live. A fact that she cannot shake during her dreams and waking, she feels someone or something is watching her.

Does the odd adventure here or there, but behind the scenes is a heavy investor in Grafiz the gnome's airship project which will soon revolutionize trade. He makes constant (but fairly pointless) usage of his Staff of Birdcalls and nightly wine from his alchemy jug. Currently he is cursed in the current campaign by his estranged wife (also a wizard), so hopefully the Party will discover the cure or else his blindness will be permanent.
Haven't named him yet but my Goliath wizard is a utility/can trip Wizard with a perchant towards alchemy and fine wines. In the wandering tribes he gather medicinal herbs and brews fine wines. He starts having disturbing visions and sets out to the city to find their meaning and maybe sample some local breweries. Are these visions, drunken lullabies or mental disorders find out if you let me game with you
Vothak, a Goliath who was ostracized from his clan at a young age due to his small stature and lack of affinity in combat. As he grew up alone he started channeling what limited magic he had into creating his own friends, primarily a lizard friend for his familiar. One day he came upon a ruined camp that was ransacked with bodies strewn about. As he sifted through the bodies he saw a small ring on a body which he kept for himself with a hat of disguise he found stashed away. When he got back to his cave he put the ring on and the voice of it's previous user spoke to him. The previous user imparted his knowledge and started training Vothak in the ways of conjuration and once he taught him all he could his soul left the ring. Currently in the campaign Vothak has created a homunculus and sealed it in a library by itself. His end goal is to try and find a way to gain as much knowledge as he can before he eventually passes so his soul can enter the ring and make sure that no knowledge is lost to time.
