What spell do you find yourself using the most often, or in the most varied of situations? I'm curious to hear about your creative uses of spellcasting!
My go-to is catapult. So far in this campaign I've used it to:
Deal damage via large rocks, iron ingots, molotov cocktails, and clumps of molten metal.
Retrieve a magic sword from a treasure room while the ceiling collapsed.
Send my rat familiar flying to an area that was inaccessible to me, so he could retrieve an item.
I'm sure I'll come up with more ways to use it in the future. Best 50 GP I ever spent.

in my current campaign that would be Shadowblade, but that's pretty niche. I have 17 Dex and it's currently my only offensive spell that isn't a cantrip. he's a utility wizard, so most of his spells are out of combat focused.
Though I do always take this spell for personal amusement and it can be fun to use. Also handy if your a conjuation wizard. As it's a level 1 conjuration spell so handy for refreshing Benign Transportation if a fight.
sleep- works great for low level hordes and for finishing off the damaged boss. (I just used it today as a second level wizard to knock out eight low CR monsters. Then, me and my friends just wade through the unconscious bodies for advantage on all of our attacks and free critical hits)
Reliable damage dealing spell that will always deal a relevant amount of damage, scales nicely. Can always avoid resistance and capitalize in n vulnerability.
Phantasmal Killer - since it's psychic I love that no one else understands what is happening. In a recent campaign session my poor little wizard had to kill an NPC she and her companions have grown to like. (One of which even had a steamy night with him.) It was a deal with a demon - the NPC or herself potentially another party you know how DM's like to mess with your minds and come at you all vague. Anyway she hid behind a cart so no one could see her and did her spell under the cart keeping her vision on the NPC's feet. It was her first time using the spell and since has used it several times. Her whole party was meant to protect this NPC that was our job - she killed him on her own. It was one of those amazingly awesome and yet horrendous moments where you can't help but be proud of your character for essentially whooping butt but also while casting the spell you're wizard is drowning in tears.
Magic Missiles: few creatures with resistance or immunity to Force damage. Can be used against multiple targets if needed. No saving throws or hit rolls required.
For most of my wizards, it my signature spell.

Watch your back, conserve your ammo, and NEVER cut a deal with a dragon!
Magic missile. Early on, my wizard got a wand of magic missile. Between it and her spell she can throw some steady damage against creatures that are hard to hit. That and Leomund's Tiny Hut. Huge benefit in hostile terrain.

Yeah, my party's druid got a wand of missiles, and basically just destroyed a mob of hobgoblins (which are easily my least favorite low-level creatures due to their high AC!)
I used Rope Trick with my Druid a lot, surprisingly. It was only a 5 session campaign, but I used 4/5 sessions. I wish it didn't consume so much rope :P
Gust also became something of a signature spell for my Sorcerer, but we tended to fight over terrifying drops a lot of the time... So the ability to knock an enemy down a several thousand foot drop was too good to pass up.
Rope trick Material components are listed as consumed, why would the rope be consumed? Also it needs up to 60' of rope. use 3' and shimmy, now your in, less than that and unless holding it and jumping like a mary poppins umbrella rope works for your DM I dont know how you could count as 'climbing it' unless your small or tiny.

Fireball. Probably a cliche answer but so far it's won me enough battles that my DM got frustrated. I think that means it's doing its job.

Guys, pls."

"Toss a coin to your [Insert class here]"
Fire bolt, hands down.
Cantrip, good damage, good distance....
Or fireball, if im not really bothered about spell slots
For my money, Ray of frost is hard to beat, reducing enemy movement can really help the entire party if you can pick your targets.
Shadowblade for my Bladesinger Wizard. As you might be able to tell, he's not AL legal.
Shield. If you have a good dex (let's say 20) and mage armor, that only gives you 18. That's good, but can be hit. Shield, boom! Untouchable.

Haven’t used this account in forever. Still a big fan of crawling claws.
Find familiar if you mean continuous use not repeated casting otherwise:
Dragons breath - on that flying familiar or another volunteer (unless you include cantrips)
sleep- works great for low level hordes and for finishing off the damaged boss. (I just used it today as a second level wizard to knock out eight low CR monsters. Then, me and my friends just wade through the unconscious bodies for advantage on all of our attacks and free critical hits)

Damn, that sounds like an absolutely brutal scenario. I love it!

Oops, didn't mean Rope Trick. Meant the other rope spell. The Druid one. Snare? I think?
