Starting a new campaign in a few weeks, Dragon Heist. There were so many classes I wanted to play as I just finished dm'ing for this group after a 3-4 year camping. I was hoping something gish that could still support the group in and out of combat. I started to look at blade singer as I like options and could dance around in melee but drop back and cc/buff if things got hairy. Then I rolled the stats... 15, 14, 12, 6, 10, 10. While not the worst I could have done, definitely lacking. So now the question is do I attempt to bladesing or change course. Maybe roll up a diviner? Different class? I know dragon Heist is only to level 5 but I'm not sure this group won't keep going after that. If it helps, the party looks to be: rogue, rogue, artificer, cleric, monk, sorcerer, barbarian. big I know...
6 strength, 14 Dex, 12 con, 15 int, 10s for wisdom and charisma. High elf gets you to 16 Dex and 16 int. It could work. One major issue is that you don't get second attack until 6 and if you are playing a level 5 campaign, there are better options for a gish. You could go hexblade warlock with pact of the blade. It's very much online at 5. 14 Dex, 15 charisma, stats otherwise the same. It opens up other races, probably variant human being the best. You also get higher hit dice, medium armor, more options for weapons, armor agathys, and Critical hits at 19. Its more on the melee fighting side of gish but it is very effective at it. And with Eldritch blast and agonizing blast, you're a ranged powerhouse too.
On the other hand the wizard is a better caster long term. Bladesinger, especially with Shadow blade, can be very effective after getting to level 6.

Circle of the moon druid could also be fun as a pseudo gish. Turning into a beast is a good way to have your poor stats not matter as much.
Does your DM not let you mulligan when your rolls are worse than standard array (or at least use standard array)?
You have two rogues. Disband the campaign before they merge into the ultimate “ it’s what my character would do “ and go on a npc murder spree
heheh get rickrolled xdddddd
