First post here, and I couldn't find a thread about this in the search, so apologies.
What would you say is the most ideal Wizard subclass to be a badass Control Wizard? This won't be my first caster, but it is my first Wizard (race is Variant Human).
In my opinion, Enchantment, Divination and Illusion are good for control. Enchantment and Divination come online much earlier but if you're playing at high level, Illusory Reality is really powerful. Hypnotic Gaze and Split Enchantment can be really good and allow additional avenues for control. Divination is the most basic because it allows you to dictate rolls at a crucial moment.
The other archetype I would consider is abjuration. If you use a gimmick to fill your ward it would offer support to your group with Projected Ward but not any additional control.
Bladesinger can work nicely for a control wizard to help maintain that concentration. Combined with resilience or warcaster you losing your concentration while your song is up will be hard, and it also makes you less likely to get hit since as a controller your likely to be a primary target for enemy ranged attacks. War Magic is also another one worth looking into since getting better initiative can make for better results through you just blitzing the enemy. Beginning of combat throwing down a web or something to hold their melee in place can really shift some encounters into your favour. Onomancy is UA standout for the fact that in regards to single or small amounts of control casting by giving them disadvantage on the requisite saves for some real nasty spells.

In my case, my stats are as follows:
