I think one reason Enchantment Wizards aren't more common is that many enchantment spells remove the target's ability to say no, and consent violations are viewed as a pretty bad thing. Think of Kilgrave from Jessica Jones as an Enchantment Wizard without scruples. He just wants his girlfriends to love him, right? Nothing wrong with that... except that if you have the ability to make them love you, how do you resist the temptation? And the next thing you know, you're the BBEG.
There's nothing wrong with playing an Enchantment Wizard, but you need to be very mindful of how your character uses that power, because it could be triggering for other players if they have trauma related to consent violations.
