I was wondering if I could have my quarter staff as my arcane focus see as it being a staff was an option could I do that or would I just have to have two different staffs
You can treat a Staff as a Quarterstaff (due to the improvised weapon rule and probably more that I can't think of right now) - but you cannot treat a Quarterstaff as a spellcasting focus.
For simplicities sake - add both to your inventory and customise the Quarterstaff to have 0 weight. Use the Staff as the item you actually have and use - but have the Quarterstaff (which your character doesn't have) just for adding the attack to your actions.
Alternatively - just add a custom action that mimics the Quarterstaffs damage and just have the Staff. Either way makes little difference.
you don't have to do that anymore. In DDB, now when you equip a staff, it shows up as a melee weapon as well.

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.
Your quarterstaff cannot be an arcane focus. Your arcane focus staff however counts as a quarterstaff. So, just get an arcane focus staff and use it as both a focus and a quarterstaff.

Talk to your DM. I am currently allowing it for one of my players.

Oh awesome - I didn't know that. Even better.
