This type of wizard is often overlooked, in my opinion. If you are planning to be a diviner you are going to need plenty of money to buy your equipment. The spell scrying needs a 1000 GP crystal ball. Here are the divination spells: divination spells click here

I am a noob DM and almost always a player. I love cats and want to be a super DM. Also I think that ostriches are cool.
p.s. teiflings make good wizards and the DMs guide is super helpful. So is the player's handbook.
RIGHT! not only is there Portent, but at level 6 you can cast your Div spells and get slots back. Combine that with mind spike and your a psychic damage dealing freak. when it comes to exploration, social with detect thoughts, Diviners have so many good options!
Divination spells are good. Locate object for searching secret doors, traps, hidden treasures. Detect thoughts for investigation, also rary's telepathic bond+detect houghts as an aura in battle - superior battlefield control. Arcane eye for dungeons. Mind spike + Divination Expert - psionic power. Detect magic + identify = you know all about everything. Contact other plane - best divination spell. Tongues as signature spell is the best choice. Diviner needs to be creative for using their benefits
My only issue with divination spells is the range and levels of the locate spells. I think the range should be longer, maybe a mile, and they should be at spell levels 1 and 3 instead of 2 and 4.
The thing is that Chronurgist are often considered superior because of their broken class abilities. But Diviner is top choice for sure.
Homebrew, whether it's Matt Mercer's or someone else is often broken.

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.
Yeah, well... I totally agree. That’s why I didn’t consider Echo Knight and even Chronurgy comparable to any other sub-class.
I think Diviner is a top choice, but the Wizard chassis is really strong. You can dominate the battlefield as an Abjurer, Evoker, Enchanter, Necromancer or Illusionist.
I think I’ll start a thread to share some tactics about specific schools.
I completely agree. You could play a wizard, never pick a subclass and still have a really strong character. I don't consider any of the Matt Mercer classes anything other than homebrew. As far as Diviner, I think it's the most powerful, simply because of portent. The potential to force a powerful creature to fail a save or suck spell, provided you have a low roll available to use is amazing. There are a couple other wizard subclasses that I really like, but if I were going to play a wizard in a new campaign tomorrow, Diviner is what I am going to pick.

Yes, Divination spell actually suck — with the exception of Arcane Eye.
Main appealing for a Diviner is definitely the Portent ability.
The Diviner has been cited as one of the most (if not THE most) powerful Wizard subclass since it's appearance. How is it overlooked?
