How do Divine Blessings interact with the current S9 magic item limits? Specifically: do they count against your magic item limit, and do they normally require attunement?
I've found conflicting information, some of which appears to be module-specific, but have been unable to pin down the "general" rules. If possible, I'd appreciate a link to any official guidance.
The official documents (ALPG, ALDMG, ALFAQ and ALCC) only seem to have one significant mention of blessings.
As a reward for completing white plume mountain.
"3. Third Weapon Returned. Each character receives either a blessing of protection or a blessing of weapon enhancement (player choice) and when the character gains 17th level can claim one of these legendary items for their own use subject to the MIL restrictions."
Only claiming the legendary item at level 17 appears to be covered by the MIL restriction. The first clause doesn't appear to mention the MIL in the context of either of the blessing options.
The only other source of official rulings for AL play is the AL facebook group so I would check there.
P.S. From the Facebook group - I asked someone who reads it - Travis Woodall posted that as per the ALPG, only permanent magic items of uncommon rarity and above that are not storyline items count against the magic item limit. Blessings are NOT magic items and do not count against the MIL.
P.P.S. There are apparently some blessings out there that are module specific and may only apply to playing a specific story arc (like a set of CCCs) but in that case the text should be pretty clear.
