The descriptions says once per day per short rest you can recover a spell slot/slots, but the BOX under to check it off says "/Long rest" next to it. Is it short or long rest to get the slot(s) back? Can that be corrected on the character sheets?
OK, so they should just fix the character sheet so it says BOX "/short rest". It currently says "/long rest" after the box to check it off.
Thanks for the clarification on which one, though!!
No, it is worded correctly. The feature resets after a long rest, it just so happens to only be usable after a short rest. If it was worded as you suggest then the inverse wouldbe true.

Lightning Strike - A rebranded Fire Bolt for Wizards & Sorcerers.
Spirit Bomb - A holy fireball for Clerics, Paladins, & Divine Soul Sorcerers!
Sword Dancer - A Cleric subclass specifically for the Drow goddess Eilistraee.
Soooo, I take a short rest and I use the ability. Then I take another short rest and CAN'T use it. Then I take a long rest, but I still can't use it until I take another short rest after the long rest....? That's odd....
I'm assuming this is the Wizard's Arcane Recovery ability; if that's correct it's something you do during a short rest. Similar to how when you take a short rest you can spend hit dice to regain health. Hit dice can only be used during a short rest. Arcane recovery can only be used during a short rest. And similar to how a drow can only cast faerie fire and darkness once per long rest, per the racial feat, a wizard can only use arcane recovery once per long rest.
Arcane Recovery
You have learned to regain some of your magical energy by studying your spellbook. Once per day when you finish a short rest, you can choose expended spell slots to recover. The spell slots can have a combined level that is equal to or less than half your wizard level (rounded up), and none of the slots can be 6th level or higher.
/e It's for, obviously, regaining spell slots. Say you get into a pretty big fight and use all of your spell slots, or most of them, but you know you're going to be getting into another big fight before your group is able to settle down for the night and take a long rest. You would take a short rest to regain some spell slots that way you have some available to you for the next fight, whereas you wouldn't have the slots available again until you took a long rest. It would be useless to be able to use arcane recovery directly after a long rest as you already have all your spell slots available to you.

You can use this ability one time per day, but only after completing a short rest.

Ah, I believe I understand.
