So, myself, and likely many others have sensitive eyes, so looking at the super bright, light backgrounds of the character maker/sheet burn my/our eyes. On other parts of the website, such as the character list and the forums, we can use googles "Dark mode", to help alleviate the issue, however, when we (I) try to access the sheet/maker, the whole screen goes black and we (I) can't use them until l turn off dark mode, thus exposing my eyes to the blinding light.
Therefore, l decided to make this to ask for some form of dark mode to be added to the character sheet and character maker. (and idealy the whole site if possible) If such a thing already exists, then l apologize, and could you please tell me how to enable it?
You might get some good results fiddling with Stylus and changing things around. I think i'm happy with my current result after some css fixes and changes to an existing style someone came up earlier. Was just buggy at a lot of options and needes some work. You could also set the style up so it only triggers on certain characters via Stylus - all up to you. Whats also nice is to be able to add your own background without having to care about copyrights etc. as its personal use/view only anyway.

How would l do this? (or was this to give advice to dndbeyond staff?)
Basically i fixed buggy or missing stuff - like .svg display, icon color dependency and all the input fields for customization etc., added some shadows to the borders to make em stand out on the background - edited the background size etc.... little things to fit my needs i guess. ^^
you click the stylus icon in your browser - and you see a little pen icon behind the style. Click that icon and exchange all the the stuff inside with the one i linked. with the little clockwork icon you can set the general colors and the bg image yourself after.
Now that we have a built in dark mode, how do i get it to stop asking if i want to enable it every time I view my sheets? dark mode is already active on each sheet (because it is apparently not a site wide toggle) yet it still asks if i want to enable dark mode even when you can clearly see it is already active.

Sure not for the staff. If they would be interested in providing a dark theme soon - they could have done so ages ago. Priorities i know yada yada. :D
You can get Stylus in the chrome store-> https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/stylus/clngdbkpkpeebahjckkjfobafhncgmne
The original .css can be found here -> https://github.com/wmak/dndbeyond-darktheme/
It also has a little install guide that might help you out.
My edited version can be found here for 24h -> https://pastebin.com/9dMg6f4R

Ok, so l got the dark mode thing working by useing the guide, but l don't know how to add your edit.

Thanks. I got it working. (though lt took me longer then i'd have liked to figure out you wrote "behind" when you meant "beside"
All l need now is something for the character maker and my eyes will be safer during the entire process.
happy to help. :) i'm german - so some ways of talk might sound weird. Enjoy :D
If you're planning to build your own character sheet dark mode, using a browser extension, you may want to hold off on doing that work.
No reason. 😇
