So doing nightstone with my party I realize the base grid is not aligned properly in the image from the book, which makes it impossible to line up in Roll20.
I really don't want to have to buy the module again in roll20 and the idea of spending so much time just messing with maps is going to force me to do so if I can't find a way to work it.
This would be an issue with the original maps made by Wizards of the Coast. D&D Beyond provides art exactly as provided and cannot make any adjustments.
My advice from having imported lots of maps into roll20 is to get the grid scale good enough on roll20 so the scale is right, then disable the grid on roll20. This way measurements will be as accurate as you need, but you won't have the snap to grid forcing things into the wrong places.
Thanks, I was able to learn how to adjust the maps to the right scale very very slowly. Turns out I was making adjustments too large and overshooting any true alignment.
But I also was messing with not using the grid thanks for the tip.

Please, teach me, I'm having the same trouble on Roll20...
You will probably get a far quicker and better response by using Roll20's forum for things regarding their software.
