I noticed that the language was pulled from the PHB and it refers to language "later in this chapter", but this Unseen Attackers and Targets info is not on the D&D Beyond site.

When you take the Hide action, you make a Dexterity (Stealth) check in an attempt to hide, following the rules for hiding. If you succeed, you gain certain benefits, as described in the "Unseen Attackers and Targets" section later in this chapter.
that's a good catch actually. Whilst the content is on the "making an attack" page, as filcat linked, the source page really should hyper link to that section.
I would hope that there will be an audit on these text pages at some point soon, to look at functionality such as this and also utilise the new linking code for examples etc. :)
