i agree it really mucks things up. you could turn it on per character sheet much like the eberron content or homebrew. just give us a bunch of switches to turn off and on.
The multiverse of madness book has a remaking if evry race within it, so if you buy it, it'll absolutely clutter up the chaeicter creator, I made the mistake of getting the book myself, so a toggle book feature would be a life saver.
1000% agreed. With MMotM released my races page is really cluttered now.
Several of my friends I DM for are casual players and race selection was already daunting enough. Plus, I doubt I will use the old versions for my own characters outside of niche situations.
Here are some specific features I think would really improve quality of life going forward, even beyond this release:
Character Builder: an "advanced options" sources dropdown with toggles for all of your source books
Account Settings: a preferences page where you can set your own defaults for all options in the Character Builder's "Home" tab (ie so I can leave the old races disabled and enable optional features by default)
Campaign Content Management: The page from 2, above, except for all players in the campaign (ie if I want my players to start with old races disabled and optional features enabled automatically so they know from the start what they have available to them)
Campaign Content Management: Restrict characters with homebrew enabled to only be able to use material in the DM's homebrew collection
I would also love to be able to do this on the search pages for monsters/items/spells etc. You can effectively get the same result by only selecting the sources you want under the Advanced Filters, but if you f.ex. want all sources except one it becomes very tedious to have to select them all just to exclude one book.
Maybe instead of having a dropdown which adds one source at a time there could be a checklist with options to include all/none.
I would like to see the ability to turn off source books. This would make AL PHB+1 super easy. Pick your books and make the character.
I hope I am not being an idiot and that feature is out there.

This is one thing keeping me from buying Tasha's on here.
As the number of books proliferates, I really think this is a necessity.
I'd love to be able to do this at the character level, but even more at the campaign level.

yes please. My DMs often limit the books we can use in their campaigns, so this would be very useful.
