With the announcement of One D&D, I am most excited about the virtual tabletop.
My question now is, when and how can campaign creators get early access to this system for the purpose of building their worlds and providing feedback? Will this be part of the One D&D UA program, or will it be separate?
For commercial campaign creators, is there a plan to where they can market their campaigns via the dndbeyond.com store as well?
Lots of possibilities, and thereby questions, arise from this project! I for one am looking forward to see where it ends up.
DMs spend enough time preparing their game sessions.
With a 2D map on VTT there is quite a bit of extra time required to set up each encounter map.
With a 3D map I can just imagine how much longer it will take to set up each encounter map - with the extra visual detail expected in a 3D environment, having to place all the relevant furniture and wall decorations in each room will quickly drain a DM's preparation time.
Yea, I'm really counting on a user base generating a lot of content so that you can share things publically and then DMs can search and pull premade maps or they can create their own. Otherwise its going to be way too time consuming

I expect to see a lot of Patreons offering paid-for 3D built scenes - but I don't know how easy it would be to load these into the D&D VTT, since the VTT is likely to be a closed cloud server much like roll20 (rather than a stand-alone/downloadable server like foundry).
So the whole "We want players to let us know what they think" doesn't extend to ideas/suggestions/questions surrounding the VTT, but only in the UA that you release via the playtest materials. Got it!

The Digital VTT isn't at a point where they have anything to show us or that we could use. So yeah, at the moment the UA is the only part of One D&D that is in playtest phase.

Leaving OGL 1.0(a) untouched and making SRD 5.1 CC-BY-4.0 is a great first step. The next is a promise to do the same for future editions. Here's a discussion thread on that.

My DM's computer can barely handle regular roll20 -- and my computer can't handle foundry. A 3D VTT would make digital play less accessible for many people.

You asked a question pertaining to D&D Digital:

If any of these questions had answers, they'd be in the FAQ that I directed you to.
I wasn't saying you shouldn't give feedback about D&D Digital, although I would say it's maybe a bit premature seeing as all we know about it is what's stated in the FAQ plus some pre-alpha in-engine footage.
Also this isn't a feedback forum for D&D Digital or even the One D&D playtest. Feedback relating to One D&D can be directed through the One D&D page here

And none of my questions are answered there, hence why the question was posted here. :)
I'd bet that Open beta for this would like end of the year or next year.
I do wonder however to what degree we can make custom content/maps/models etc using this?
Cause lots of people do uses VTT's, but also 3rd party content, like Kobold press etc.
So will we have complet freedom of integrating things in the Digital D&D?

DDB is great, but it could be better. Here are some things I think could improve DDB

It looks awesome, but I'm concerned that it will require a beefy PC.
Personally I am hoping we can get some form of 2D map system out of this as well. I would gladly make the switch off Roll20 if they had 2D access.
