I noticed some of the Races are listed twice in Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse. If I create a new Character can I pick from the two versions of the Races or do the new versions of the Races override the originals?
MMM was a break from DDB's past practice of updating prior products to reflect the latest product. MMM races are only accessible through MMM itself or piecemeal purchases of individual races (or presuming there is one a race bundle). If you have races from Volos or MTOF, you still have access to them as "legacy" races, but not the updated MMM version. If you own both MMM and a prior version of the race as it appeared in another book you get to choose between the versions, the older version in the character generator is marked a "legacy" version of the race.
