As nice as it would be to have access to the full library of 5e books and be able to quickly access everything on a tablet, this is precisely why I have always leaned towards physical copies of the books. I figured that, if the company and access to the digital library was ever suddenly gone, nothing would prevent me from utilizing the books in my possession. I didn't truly expect that the company would ever disappear, but maybe the service would become unpalatable or expensive and I would be left with nothing.
To be fair, though, I never expected it would be so fast, ridiculous, and shockingly self-inflicted.
