The blood hunter was updated with a variant rule that allows players to use Wis instead of Int as their hemocraft ability.
I have a standard array Wis-based blood hunter build and was pondering a two level dip into fighter but I'm blocked because I dumped Int (score of 10).
I would expect that when I use the variant rule to make Wis my hemocraft ability score that the requirement for multiclassing would shift to Wis of 13 (instead of Int) as well as either https://vshare****/https://omegle****/ Str/Dex of 13, but this isn't the case. And the app won't allow me to multiclass because of the Int limitations.
Is this something that was not updated? I honestly don't see how Int is a relevant ability score for a Wis-based blood hunter. It makes no sense thematically.
Thematically it may not make sense, but as far as I'm aware that's rules as written. When Mercer updated the Blood Hunter with the option to use Wisdom instead of Intelligence, he did not update the multiclassing requirements for Blood Hunter, possibly intentionally as he originally wanted Blood Hunter to be Intelligence-based.
I believe you can overrule multiclass restrictions in the settings for the character sheet. Go to edit your character sheet > Home > scroll down to Use Prerequisites > uncheck Multiclass Requirements.
Presumably, the optional rule was overlooked, as a DM I'd allow it. Be sure to ask them though before overriding it.
If you can make your main blood hunter stat Wis, the multiclass requirement should also be Wis, regardless of what the original creator says.
Ex: I made a Sorcerer subclass that uses CON, I expect players to be able to multiclass if their CON is high enough, as well as the stats for their multiclass of choice.

No, what the creator says, goes and that's what D&D Beyond adheres to
