im not sure who's genius idea it was to put a permanent pop-up on every single character sheet but for the love of everything that is good PLEASE stop doing this
send an email, have a one-time collapsible pop-up, hell even a separate page that were automatically navigated to, that we can single-click past to get to our character sheets would be preferable to something that rearranges the entire window layout, that requires going into your browser code to disable and remove
i have my browser window the exact size i want it for my character sheets, which allows me to simply scroll to the bottom of the page when i first load it to get the perfect display. with the additional banner that is impossible, and aggravating to no end! I am one of many who feels this way
dnd beyond PLEASE stop implementing this asinine and obstructive design choice to communicate such a simple update. its ****in stupid
There is a legal (and ethical) obligation to ensure users of a site are made aware of any privacy policy updates. The page banner is best way to ensure that D&D Beyond has done it's due diligence in communicating the policy change and will be removed once a reasonable amount of time has lapsed
Davyd while wizards/hasbro do have an ethical/legal obligation to protect said information Lintshrimp is not wrong. it is disruptive granted it would be worse if it were at the top of the page. Add a close function to the banner. This is not rocket science it has been done on websites more and less advanced than D&D Beyond for years and it is good if not a best practice in web design
please dont conflate the necessity of announcing policy changes with pointing out the negatives of their methods of delivery. the current page banner is most certainly not the best way to communicate them, as others have stated.
It'd definitely be nice to have the privacy policy to have an X button on the far right side so that you could make it go away. Or an acknowledge button. Or something to that effect that makes it go away.
Pop up blocker takes care of it, but still. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Agreed! It messes with the interface when using an iPad with web browser. Character sheet normally fits perfectly... with the banner, not so much.
There has to be a better way or placement

At least make the banner dark...
