I want to create a magic weapon.
I am required of course to select a base weapon, which I can not do, so I have no way to do this.
Yes, I know I should not select wondrous item as magic item type, but it does not matter what I select - problem is always the same.

I've tried to replicate your problem and in all cases, changing the "Base Item Type" to Weapon will disable the "Magic Item type" field and remove any value in there, which is how it should work.
Can you describe the steps that you take to reproduce this issue please?

I could reproduce it the whole then when I made the post - Now it is working. Might have been a browser issue. Thanks for your help!
Just, just a tiny tiny bit late, but I would like to mention that I had the same issue, and it can be replicated by choosing weapon as the base item type, and then clicking create magic item without selecting anything for the base weapon. Essentially, if anyone else in the future has this issue, then change the base item type away from weapon, and then back to weapon. Then you will be able choose a base weapon.
