When performing a search and entering "gnom" you get a few suggested results clicking on of these results e.g. "gnome" should immediately search that term not require me to hit enter afterwards.
The result he is talking about is the auto-complete drop down that suggests things to search for. In his example, when I start typing gnom the search box suggests Gnome - clicking this does not search the term, just places it into the search box and you then have to hit enter or add more detail & hit enter
